Google EPR Samples

Welcome to the EPR section of this website. First, you should go to the NJEXCEL.ORG website and find all of the relevant documents in Section 9. Remember that the EPR is a narrative about YOUR GROWTH through the NJEXCEL process, so make sure to use the ISLLC Standards as your framework to your presentation. You can access the ISLLC Standards here at our website.

The Technology

Your EPR does involve a technology component, but being comfortable in front of the three judges with a prepared talk is paramount. Nevertheless, using a digital presentation tool is still necessary. I will be using the term "PowerPoint" to describe the digital platform criteria, but please know you can use any presentation tool you wish. Take some time to browse the few examples I have below from this post on PRESENTATION TOOLS like SlidesCarnival

Also, note that there is a template on the NJEXCEL.ORG website (section 9). It is also posted below.

The Presentation

Although a crisp "PowerPoint" is important, your oral presentation is the real key to the EPR process. Therefore, review some of the guided questions from Section 9 Documents:

1. How does/do the artifact(s) that you are presenting demonstrate your personal growth (personal dispositions and emotional intelligence competencies), professional growth, and ability to effectively apply your competencies to school leadership practices in one or more of NJ EXCEL’s four Leadership Areas?

· Organizational Leadership (i.e. your vision for effective school leadership and your ability to achieve that vision, your understanding of schools as organizations, and leading organizational development for continuous school improvement);

· Instructional Leadership (i.e. your ability to effectively establish an effective learning environment for all students to learn, and to lead effective instructional programs that support learning for all students);

· Community Leadership (i.e. your ability to effectively engage parents and community members in the educational process to support learning for all students;

· Strategic Management (i.e. your ability to plan, to manage personnel, facilities and finances, and to use technologies in ways that directly support teaching and learning for all students).

2. In general, how would you describe your personal and professional growth since beginning the NJ EXCEL Program?

a) In what area(s) do you feel that you have shown the most growth?

b) How have your technology skills grown during the program, and how will they assist you in being a more effective leader?

c) What area(s) would you target to further your personal growth (personal dispositions and emotional intelligence competencies)?

d) What area(s) would you target to further your continuing professional growth and leadership development (school leader knowledge and skills, and their application to school leadership practice)?

3. Are there any specific area(s) where feedback from the EPR Panel would be particularly helpful to you related to your

presentation, your personal and professional growth, and your future career goals?

EPR Samples

  • Below you will find handouts from my EPR as well as two others that I have assessed as being part of a panel. We will review them in class and contrast how these two tackled the "project vs. standards" approach.
  • Also you can browse through PREZI to find other samples from former NJ EXCELers!
