Who live in a shoe

They must have found there Island home to small

....shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants

Britain is the old women  ( Queen Victoria) that live in the shoe, the shoe in this nursary rhyme was that of a victorian womens booty as it was in the shape of Britain.

It is well documented that Britain became very over populated and the government were so concerned that they were at odds of what to do, there was the policy of resettlement which occurred with the colonization of the Americas middle and north, Australia, New Zealand, south Africa and India
