Chapter 3

Abraham learns about the sun, moon, and stars by means of the Urim and Thummim—The Lord reveals to him the eternal nature of spirits—He learns of pre-earth life, foreordination, the Creation, the choosing of a Redeemer, and the second estate of man.

 1 And I, Abraham, had the Urim and Thummim, which the Lord my God had given unto me, in Ur of the Chaldees;

 2 And I saw the stars, that they were very great, and that one of them was nearest unto the throne of God; and there were many great ones which were near unto it;

 3 And the Lord said unto me: These are the governing ones; and the name of the great one is Kolob, because it is near unto me, for I am the Lord thy God: I have set this one to govern all those which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest.

 4 And the Lord said unto me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its times and seasons in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a day unto the Lord, after his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand years according to the time appointed unto that whereon thou standest. This is the reckoning of the Lord’s time, according to the reckoning of Kolob.

 5 And the Lord said unto me: The planet which is the lesser light, lesser than that which is to rule the day, even the night, is above or greater than that upon which thou standest in point of reckoning, for it moveth in order more slow; this is in order because it standeth above the earth upon which thou standest, therefore the reckoning of its time is not so many as to its number of days, and of months, and of years.

 6 And the Lord said unto me: Now, Abraham, these two facts exist, behold thine eyes see it; it is given unto thee to know the times of reckoning, and the set time, yea, the set time of the earth upon which thou standest, and the set time of the greater light which is set to rule the day, and the set time of the lesser light which is set to rule the night.

 7 Now the set time of the lesser light is a longer time as to its reckoning than the reckoning of the time of the earth upon which thou standest.

 8 And where these two facts exist, there shall be another fact above them, that is, there shall be another planet whose reckoning of time shall be longer still;

 9 And thus there shall be the reckoning of the time of one planet above another, until thou come nigh unto Kolob, which Kolob is after the reckoning of the Lord’s time; which Kolob is set nigh unto the throne of God, to govern all those planets which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest.

 10 And it is given unto thee to know the set time of all the stars that are set to give light, until thou come near unto the throne of God.

 11 Thus I, Abraham, talked with the Lord, face to face, as one man talketh with another; and he told me of the works which his hands had made;

 12 And he said unto me: My son, my son (and his hand was stretched out), behold I will show you all these. And he put his hand upon mine eyes, and I saw those things which his hands had made, which were many; and they multiplied before mine eyes, and I could not see the end thereof.

 13 And he said unto me: This is Shinehah, which is the sun. And he said unto me: Kokob, which is star. And he said unto me: Olea, which is the moon. And he said unto me: Kokaubeam, which signifies stars, or all the great lights, which were in the firmament of heaven.

 14 And it was in the night time when the Lord spake these words unto me: I will multiply thee, and thy seed after thee, like unto these; and if thou canst count the number of sands, so shall be the number of thy seeds.

 15 And the Lord said unto me: Abraham, I show these things unto thee before ye go into Egypt, that ye may declare all these words.

 16 If two things exist, and there be one above the other, there shall be greater things above them; therefore Kolob is the greatest of all the Kokaubeam that thou hast seen, because it is nearest unto me.

 17 Now, if there be two things, one above the other, and the moon be above the earth, then it may be that a planet or a star may exist above it; and there is nothing that the Lord thy God shall take in his heart to do but what he will do it.

 18 Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal.

 19 And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all.

 20 The Lord thy God sent his angel to deliver thee from the hands of the priest of Elkenah.

 21 I dwell in the midst of them all; I now, therefore, have come down unto thee to declare unto thee the works which my hands have made, wherein my wisdom excelleth them all, for I rule in the heavens above, and in the earth beneath, in all wisdom and prudence, over all the intelligences thine eyes have seen from the beginning; I came down in the beginning in the midst of all the intelligences thou hast seen.

 22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;

 23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.

 24 And there stood one among them that was like unto God, and he said unto those who were with him: We will go down, for there is space there, and we will take of these materials, and we will make an earth whereon these may dwell;

 25 And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them;

 26 And they who keep their first estate shall be added upon; and they who keep not their first estate shall not have glory in the same kingdom with those who keep their first estate; and they who keep their second estate shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever.

 27 And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.

 28 And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him.

Michael/Adam, with all of us on earth cast Lucifer and one third of the host of Heaven to the earth. They did not keep their first estate and were denied the opportunity to gain a body and develop and grow. to use their own free agency.

"And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

 17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

 18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

 19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. (Isaiah 14:13-19.)

The War that was started In Heaven is not over the only difference is that the battle field has changed. There you and I were valiant and noble for the cause of  our Heavenly Father's plan the Great plan of Happiness. There  the war was fought over free agency  and the cause of freedom, Just like it is even now today. For the Father will force no man to Heaven as would  Satan the Devil. We would come to earth to receive a body and to choose between "Good and Evil"

Lucifer, Satan the Devil was also cast down to the earth with his followers who just like now, with Satan's counterfeit forced  Islamic religion would rather be governed by a tyrant and live in slavery.

Those of us that received a physical body fulfilled our first estate, we chose to follow the Father and his Son Jesus Christ there we keep our first estate we are now in our second estate. Who's side will we chose here for the final conflict. Lucifer and the host of heaven that followed after him did not keep their first estate and received no bodies.  The Demons  who were of the host of heaven who followed after Lucifer and Lucifer himself, would rather have the body of swine than have nobody at all.

 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. (Mark 5: 7-13.)

 or will we yet be deceived by Lucifer that old serpent the devil

The Brazen Sea

Adherents of Mormonism believe that the molten sea in Solomon's Temple was a baptismal font. As explained by apostle Bruce R. McConkie:

In Solomon’s Temple a large molten sea of brass was placed on the backs of 12 brazen oxen, these oxen being symbolical of the 12 tribes of Israel. This brazen sea was used for performing baptisms for the living. There were no baptisms for the dead until after the resurrection of Christ.

It must be remembered that all direct and plain references to baptism have been deleted from the Old Testament (1 Nephi 13) and that the word baptize is of Greek origin. Some equivalent word, such as wash, would have been used by the Hebrew peoples. In describing the molten sea the Old Testament record says, "The sea was for the priests to wash in.This is tantamount to saying that the priests performed baptisms in it.[8]

Every temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) contains a baptismal font on twelve oxen that is modeled after the molten sea. The LDS Church performs baptisms for the dead in these fonts.

 "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?"  (1 Corinthians 15: 29.

Baptism for the Dead in Ancient Times

In 1895 there was found in Egypt a Coptic papyrus purporting to contain an account of the teaching of Christ to his apostles after the resurrection. The most learned church historian of modern times, Adolf von Harnack, was prompted to point out that this document was neither “a provincial production of the Egyptian Church” nor a brainchild of the Gnostics, but an authentic statement of certain important doctrines of salvation and resurrection common to the whole Christian church at a very early date. Shortly after, Carl Schmidt, second only to Harnack in his knowledge of early Christian documents, produced a number of ancient fragments, matching the Coptic text word for word in a half dozen languages and showing it to be derived from the Greek original of an apostolic general epistle which had enjoyed widespread authority and popularity in the church at least as early as the second century. The subject of this epistle was salvation for the dead, a doctrine which, as Schmidt demonstrated, was believed in the early church to have been the main theme of Christ’s teaching after the resurrection.

 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

 45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

 46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. (luke 19: 21-46.)

IT is claimed that the knights Templar in their 75 year occupation of the Temple site  discovered many sacred treasures. These treasures that they found in and around Jerusalem are  also claimed, by some, to be the treasures that are described on the the copper scroll, which was discovered  in 1952 in cave 3  by the Dead Sea at Qumran.

The inscription on the copper scroll list sixty four hiding places, in Jerusalem and in various districts of Palestine 

Weather or not this was the treasure that the Knights Templars discover we do not know and if known that information is held and guarded. 

  Nevertheless  it is claimed that the Templars did come away from Jerusalem with great treasures. These ranged from the Ark of the Covenant, with or without, all its contents, to many golden artifacts,  gold coins and even gold and metal plates. J.M Allergo, (The Treasure of the Copper Scroll, London 1960,) reckons that the treasure must have amounted to over three thousand talents of silver, nearly one thousand three hundred talents of gold,sixty-five bars of gold, six hundred and eight pitchers containing silver, and six hundred and nineteen gold and silver vessels. In other words using post-biblical talents as a yardstick, the total weight of precious metal  must have added up to sixty-five tons of silver and twenty-six tons of gold. It is suggested that this vast wealth of funds was collected  for the rebuilding of the temple after 70 AD or with the hidden treasure of Bar Kokhba, leader of the second Jewish revolution against Rome  in 132-5 ASD.

The  Temple Scrolls and  sacred parchments  could have including "Ancient  Sea Maps" King Solomon was reputed to have a vast navy of merchant ships that sail the world even to the Island of Tarshish  (The British Isles) (see Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings by Charles H. Hapgood) These scrolls could well have also been writings from Prophets  which we do not find in our Bible, however these prophets with their books are clearly  mentioned and referred to in our Holy Bible.

What we do know is that the Knights Templars came back from Jerusalem very wealthy indeed. They were also later  accused of practicing  heretical rituals. Could they have had in their position sacred writings that explained the sacred rituals of the Aaronic/levitical priesthood which was carried out in the temple?

Not long after we also see in Europe, England Scotland and Wales the construction  program of many  Gothic Churches. We known from the construction of the Rosslyn Chapel  that the layout was built to resemble in some way the Temple of Solomon.  In the 12th century constructed under the orders of Gualdim de Pais, was the Knights Templar Church of Tomor

Tomar is one of Portugal's historical jewels and more significantly was the last Templar town to be commissioned for construction. Tomar was especially important in the 15th century when it was a centre of Portuguese overseas expansion under Henry the Navigator, the Grand Master of the Order of Christ, successor organization to the Templars in Portugal. 22 ¶Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

"THE EVERLASTING HILLS"

When Jacob blessed his Son Joseph He saw in vision by the power of the holy Ghost "The Everlasting Hills". If there ever was a way to describe the Rocky Mountains  of  United States of America it could only be describe by a Prophet of God as the Everlasting Hills as move upon by the Holy Ghost

The Blessing 

to 

Manasseh and Ephraim

Jacob adopts Joseph's Sons, Manasseh and Ephraim as his own.They are blessed to  become two distinct Nations and People in the last days

18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.

 19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. (A Common Wealth of Nations)

 20 And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh. 

(Genesis 48: 19-20.)

An interesting fact which arises from the blessing given to Manasseh was that Jacob

 ( Israel) stated that (he) Manasseh would become a great "PEOPLE" and shall be "GREAT".(Gen 48:19-20).

Jacob did not use the word "nation" in respect to Manasseh, and this was very prophetic indeed for, America is never referred to as a NATION but always the "People" of the United States of America. OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE!- A GREAT PEOPLE!

AM-ERI-CA

Many Suggestions have been offered as to the origin of AMERICA. Some historians have suggested it was derived from AMERIGO VESPUCCI (1451-1512).

But the name of America was more divinely inspired, "America" is formed in three syllables: AM-ERI-CA.

It will be remembered that Hosea was instructed by the Lord to give his children certain names(see Hosa Chapter 1). To The firstborn son the name JEZREEL which means "God may scatter" or "GOD may sow". To The second, a daughter, the name LO-RUHAMA which means "Not having obtained mercy" And the third, a son, the name LO-AMMI meaning "Not my people".

Of Course the Names of Hoes's children depicted the sorry state Israel would find herself in, due to her adultery with false gods and disobedience to Gods laws. They would be scattered, and in the scattering the sowing; not having Gods mercy. And being issued a bill of divorcement.

Then in chapter 2 Hosea records the redeemed condition of Israel through the "Door of Hope" of the Lord's sacrifice and atonement for her transgressions. This redeemed condition is symbolised in the changed names of Hosea's children. The prefix "lo" being dropped.

"Say unto your brethren ammi: and to your sister Ruhamah" Hosea 2:1

Ammi: Meaning now "My People"

Ruhamah: Having obtained mercy.

You will notice that the expressions are NOT MY PEOPLE and MY PEOPLE not as one would expect "MY NATION" or MY KINGDOM". The Shortened version of the word AMMI is AM, which forms the first syllable of AM-ERI-CA.

The central syllable "ERI" is pure Hebrew and means "MY WATCHERS". Another form of ERI is URI another Hebrew word meaning "ENLIGHTENED" . The whole meaning: MY ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE or WATCHERS HAVING OBTAINED MERCY. The meaning of the word WATCHER being WATCHMEN, GUARDIANS or CUSTODIANS.

This reference is used extensively throughout the scriptures for those entrusted with a Divine calling on behalf of the Almighty God of Israel.

The CA in AM-ERI-CA is purely a suffix added at a later date.

Israel's New Name

So we find that in the name of AM-ERI and BRIT-ISH are hidden the new names which were given to Israel ( Isaiah 45:4, 62:2 and 65:15-16). MY COVENANT PEOPLE > ENLIGHTENED > WATCHERS > HAVING OBTAINED MERCY- SONS OF ISAAC.

The above scripture 1 Nephi 13:12 is reference to a Book of Mormon Prophet who saw in vision the spirit of the Lord moving on certain individuals and groups of people after AD .....One of those people was Christopher Columbus, who recorded in his Ship's journal, [not only did I burn with the Holy Ghost but  I saw an Angel leading me  the way I should Go.]

Madoc is reputed to have Sailed to America in 1170/71

 It is Held in myth and record history that Madoc was one of the primary discovers of America, and himself a Templar. Madoc laid claim to the New World as his kingdom and thus set a royal precedly  that all, His descendants were, therefore, heirs to his kingdom, and the Templars there had sovereign claim upon America. This explains the Rosicrucian-Freemason influence in the founding of the new nation, and their efforts to establish their own king at its head.

John Dee showed his Secret Book of Madoc to Queen Elizabeth I. His purpose for doing so seems to have been related to her desire to establish a English colony in America. Madoc's discovery of America in 1170 pre dated that of Columbus by 322 years, Given England's claim over precedence over that of Spain.  Evidence of this can be found in a pamphlet entitled A True Reporte, written by Sir George Peckham, a member of Dee's society, and dedicated to Sir Francis Walsingham ( the Queen's head of Secret  Service), published in 1583.  This pamphlet set out "to prove Queen Elisabeth's  lawful title to the New Worlde, based on not onlie upon sir Humphrey Gilbert's discoveries,but also those of Madoc." It referred to David Ingram, of Barking who had sailed with Sir John hawkins (a cousin of Sir Walter Raleigh), as one source, and to "an ancient Welsh chronicle" as the other, which could have only been Dee's Secret book of Madog, allegedly based upon Madoc's own written account of his explorations. Ingram confirmed the story, claiming to be the first of many travelers to hear welsh words spoken by Indians in America.

[Point to Ponder:- If England had claim to the Americas as this suggests. It then becomes understandable why Queen Elizabeth quietly sanctioned British "Pirates" to raid the Spanish gold Ships. If England's claim to the New World Was Based on a Templars Word and evidence this would not have been recognised due to the Fact that All Templars Had been made outlaws and heretics by The Roman Church. England was seen as a heretic State and nation and had been excommunicated by the Pope. Therefore All English claims to the New World were invalid to the rest of Christendom.] 

Prince Henry Sinclair's (1340-1402) discovery of America in the year of 1398

The internal stone masonry in Rosslyn Chapel built 20 September 1456 (although it has often been recorded as 1446.)  depicts sculptures of plants and carvings, which some believe depict Indian corn (maize)

This is some 46 or 36 years before the discovery of America by Columbus.

Westford Carvings

There is a ledge of rock on the side of Depot Street in Westford, Massachusetts USA, ½ mile from Route 495, Exit #32. Carved into this rock is an effigy of a Scottish Knight, thought to be Sir James Gunn. Historians say this is evidence of Prince Henry Sinclair's (1340-1402) discovery of America in the year of 1398. Lehi and his family Sail to America from the Arabian Peninsula around 600 BC

"According to the Book of Mormon, Lehi (/ˈliːhaɪ/[1] lee-hy) was a prophet who lived in Jerusalem during the reign of king Zedekiah(approximately 600 BC).[2] Lehi was an Israelite of the Tribe of Manasseh, and father to Nephi, another prominent prophet in the Book of Mormon. In the first book of the Book of Mormon, First Nephi, Lehi and Nephi lead their family out of Jerusalem, and across the sea to the "promised land" (the Americas). Mormon scholar Hugh Nibley has suggested that he was a merchant and contemporary of the Seven Wise Men of Greece.[3] The prophet is the namesake of the modern-day city of Lehi, Utah.[4]  (Source, Wikipedia.)

According to the Book of Mormon narrative, the families of Lehi, his friend Ishmael and another man named Zoram left Jerusalem some time before its destruction by the Babylonians in approximately 587 BC. Lehi's group proceeded southward down the Arabian Peninsula until they reached a location called Nahom. For some time, Lehi dwelt in a tent. 1 Nephi 2:15[5] Ishmael is reported to have died by this time, and he was buried at this location.[6]

From Nahom, the group proceeded in an eastward direction across the desert until they reached a fertile coastal region they named Bountiful,[7] where Lehi's son Nephi was instructed by the Lord to build a ship for the purpose of sailing across the ocean to the "promised land."[8] The party of men, women and children along with their animals boarded the ship and sailed until they reached the Americas.[9]

The Book of Mormon relates that during his family's journey to the Americas and before his death, Lehi gave important teachings to his children and their posterity that were recorded by Nephi on metallic plates that were later used in compiling the Book of Mormon. (source. Wikipedia)

".......in Joseph Smith’s day, such discoveries had not been made yet, and so Joseph was mocked for his story of having discovered gold plates with the writings of ancient people inscribed on them.

Today it is becoming commonplace to find such ancient texts, which is why in the dozens of media reports on the emergence of the lead plates this past week, not one questioned the fact that the writings were on metal.  In fact, one scholar specifically noted that there were examples of ancient metal tablets made out of copper, bronze, and gold.
