8/24
Awaking that morning the Gotham Knights made to speak with as many as the slaves and prostitutes from Vault 33 in Junktown to find the slaver base. But they were only to find a vague location of where the Slaver Base could be found. They were given warning about not making fires in the ruins (to avoid attracting Trogs at night), and that Mad Meg was very crazy and quite likely a cannibal.
Packing up afterwards they made their way to the general area and began their search through the ruins with Wayne’s Survival skill keeping them from getting lost amongst the ruin. That evening, while on watch they notice the glow from the crater, some lights in the distance where they were thinking the slaver base is at, distant lightning to the south, and witness the savage mobility of the trogs as they leap from building to building at night.

Moving toward the light they encountered a scavenger in the morning clad in mixed clothing and various bits. Doc, BW, and Grim vanished into the shadows as Wayne and ACE (along with Nukey and Calisto) spoke with him. He warns them away from the crater and not to make campfires, as well as avoid the area with the lights they mentioned an interest in, as there is a crazy lady there.
Now with some caution the Knight's initial plan was to sneak in and wreak havoc, except, well, ACE has no stealth what so-ever and it appears the Slavers were waiting for them. It started with ranged combat as Grim and BW moved to hold the left flank as Doc worked up the center with Wayne shooting from the far right with ACE and Nukey running support.
At least that was the plan, but the slavers were waiting and in a matter of moments the Slaver hail of Assault Rifle fire had Grim wounded and Wayne pinned down. Edgar's precision fire nearly killed ACE, but his rifle had a sudden and surprising mechanical malfunction (stupid adventure card :) ), forcing Edgar from the battlefield to plot his revenge. The slavers were also willing to beat down those slaves they had in captivity and took children as human shields. This last act triggered Grim's dark powers and she moved in with killer purpose with arcs of darkness cascading around her as her maternal instincts charged her up (along with a Super Stim-pack) gunning down those slavers foolish enough to have tried children shields. BW moved up laying down fire with his Mini-Gun, but finding the snapfire penalty a bit debilitating, still they kept the slaver numbers down.
Dogs and slavers pinned down Wayne, taking Calisto out of the battle while AR fire kept Ace and Nukey pinned down. Then the battle took a turn for the worst, when an air-horn sounded and reinforcements, concealed within the Nuka Cola truck, came out at the rear flank of BW and Grim laying down AR fire and wave of fire from a flamer disrupted their formation. But Dodge and Acrobatics enable them to survive the surprise.
At this point BW switched from the Mini-Gun to grenades and double-tossing them into the truck dealing with the new threat, as Grim moved up to secure the safety of the slaves. Doc kept picking off slavers as they kept up a withering hail of fire. ACE and Nukey moved up the center and into the fire of a slaver armed with a Mini-gun who wrecked Nukey in a rain of lead.
Calisto fell beneath the combined might of the Dogs and a Slaver pack master. The dogs surrounded Wayne, but did not attack, but gave their pack master a chance to cause Wayne some minor harm.
It was around this time that Wendy and Donald Southerland were pulled into the Grocery store and the door to the back secured as Grim continued her advance climbing over the electrified fence avoiding taking any damage and quickly arming the "cool as cucumber Kathy" (the ghoul sister of Martin).
Moving to the back door of the grocery store, Grim heard mad cackling from within - "As soon as they come in, one of you will go."
From here, both Grim and ACE assaulted the roof to take out the Slaver with the Mini-gun, as Wayne finished off the dog handler and sending the remaining dog into the ruins. Doc worked his way through the center bringing low many Slavers as BW cut through the fence to further secure the soon to be free slaves.
With the defeat of the Mini-gun wielding slaver there was a brief lull. The moans of the dead and dying slavers filled the air, when Wendy was sent out of the front of the Grocery store with an explosive collar around her neck.
A crazed voice called out, trying to negotiate her safe passage in exchange, it was Mad Meg. A tense standoff for a moment until she came out with a dead-man’s switch in hand. Grim pounced and wrestled with Mad Meg for control of the switch as the rest moved into disarm her, while ACE desperately tried to remove the collar from Wendy should Grim fail. After a few tense moment of wrestling, Grim was able to wrest the transmitter away/ Mad Meg made a desperate stab at Wendy, but ACE shielded her from the blow. And with that Mad Meg went down under the brutal blows of the very angry Gotham Knights.
Once Mad Meg came back around, after Doc ensured she would live to be an example, as well as the wounded slaves were tended to, and Calisto survived (thank goodness for Hard to Kill), Mad Meg found herself bound and with two explosive collars around her neck, Doc questioned her and found out that this was the last bastion of the Slavers and that Edgar has probably gone to Junkyard to cash out and vanish. Searching the grounds they came up with a haul of 8 Assault Rifles, 400 rounds of ammo. Looting of the Diner found fridges filled with questionable "meat" some of it even labeled "veal" and they realized that all of Mary and Alice’s children were missing and this gave them a turn of the stomach and further desire to meet out pain to Mad Meg.

So after waiting out an evening rain storm, where green and red lightning flashed across the sky, they burned the slaver base down after marking the brick walls with the Gotham Knight symbol, loaded Mad Meg on the Brahmin (with a pair of collars around her neck). Moving with purpose as the point scout, Grim's hackles on her neck raised up and sensed that they were surrounded by horde of very hungry ghouls.
"Run." Grim yelled as the ghoul horde closed in.
The Knights moved toward their escape as they tossed grenades and let loose with assault rifle fire. But when one of the ghoul horde fell, another came from the ruins to take its place.
Then if this was not bad enough, Mad Meg's head exploded as the report of a sniper rifle rolled from the ruins. Edgar was not done here, and was probably responsible for bringing this horde to their door.
Grim took it as her mission to bring him down, climbing the building she believed Edgar hid within and activating one of her precious stealth-boys, as he fired shots into the cars finding some that were unstable, setting a dangerous ticking time-bomb in the ruins as well as keeping the Knights pinned down.
The rest of the Knights protected their charges as they moved toward safety, shooting into the oncoming horde with all they got. Keeping the exit clear and the flanks thinned out, Doc, Wayne, BW, and ACE moved forward as Grim finally got to the top floor and stepped up behind the focused and unaware Edgar and put a bullet into his brain as she whispered "Children shall not be hunted by you anymore." Grabbing his rifle and dumping his corpse out the window, Grim quickly descended the building. Just as the Knights and their charges (sans the Brahmin who went down to Ghouls) all reached safety, the damaged cars exploded causing buildings to collapse on the horde and allowing the Knights to escape to Junktown.
Arriving that evening they took the corpse of Edgar and hung it on the outskirts of Junktown, high upon a lamppost, with the phrase "Here is what happens to you if peddle in the flesh of others."
They went to Moriarty and placed Edgar's trademark weapon on the counter and claimed Edgar's bank account of 2000 caps.
They found Isaiah looking for them, letting him know he was nearly done, but needed one more part a Multi-Coordinator Actuator. After describing it to them, Grim recalled that Jay, in Vault 47 had one.
Discussions among the Knights discussed what their next move would be, which was to take the Ghouls home (who would be spies for them if needed), get the Multi-Coordinator Actuator. Then take the children with them to find the Nuka Cola plant, and finally take them to Vault 33 and add them to the Gotham Home of Orphans.
With that the Gotham Knights retired for the evening, unaware of the glares they were given by certain individuals in Junktown.
