Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park (GNRSBP)

There are major and unexpected differences between the Elements Green (EG) plans for GNRSBP that were the basis for the statutory consultation during Spring 2025 and those EG actually submitted in June 2025 to The Planning Inspectorate (TPI), which were made public when TPI released them 22nd July 2025.

Until mid-July 2025, the plans for Elements Green's GNRSBP had North Muskham and its neighbouring parishes, in the project's "South-Eastern quadrant", having a substantial concentration of areas of solar panel development.

It came as a surprise to see that EG have included NONE of the anticipated developments in our immediate area, as shown in the 'before and after' graphic above. EG's reasons for their change in plans in our area can be found on pp.64-65 of their Design Approach document.

Whilst for many in NM the changes will be a welcome relief, the other 75% of the project may yet be approved and, in large areas of the Muskham Vale parishes, the planning vacuum left by the changes may be an invitation to other equally unanticipated developments.
