I've often used the 3Bs three-word slogan, "Buses, Bungalows and Buddies",  to prompt local discussion about the ageing-in-place challenges in regard to aspects of  mobility, housing and social networks as priority areas for local action aimed at building age-friendliness. That's more positive!

Over recent years developments of NHS initiatives like social prescribing and the convergence of the health service with the 'care services' in the new Integrated Care bodies, underline the significance of these aspects of our community for health & wellbeing.

The "Living Safe and Well at Home" theme, central to my interest in the Newark PCN Local Design Team, aligns closely with concept of 'ageing in place' which is now widely used in both academic and social policy contexts - but the phrase does sound a bit morbid! What's it about?
