We can now access the newly created public footpath from North Muskham at the gate shown at A on the map ...
... which you can get to easily from the A1 bridge at the top end of the village, or by walking up from the Ashiana along public footpath NM14 - or connect from other communication routes.
The new footpath runs from A-B-C inside the fields (apart from at the level crossing) to avoid the fast traffic, and then south along the dyke towards the old BT8 route at D ...
At D the new path rejoins the old BT8 (the old path visible across the field towards its original footpath crossing of the ECML) where I'm still hoping to persuade NCC to fit a handrail in the footbridge across the dyke to stop silly beggars like me falling in as I did 28th June 2022
