Is there a ‘favourite walk’ in North Muskham? If there were a vote, I feel sure the 1 kilometre ‘round the lake’ walk shown in the picture, half on pavements and half on paths, would be high on the list along for many Muskham residents.
Right now, the conditions underfoot in parts of the WLT connection make it unusable for many of the folk who could benefit the most from it, and there’s a fundamental issue to address as well.
To guarantee ‘round the lake’ access for the future we need to try and get the WLT segment designated as a Public Right of Way (PRoW). Talking to people I have the impression that most locals assume it is already a PRoW, but isn’t – it’s a part of the Wildlife Trust property which we are allowed to use and if the property were sold we would have no guaranteed right of access.
