2-part reduction refile print by 6th grade student
Summary: Sixth graders studied the Industrial Revolution and Imperialism. In Art we analyzed how artist were impacted by these turn of the century changes and how it influenced their artwork. These artists included Thomas Cole, William Turner and William Morris.
We focused on the Arts and Crafts Movement using William Morris’s designs and symmetry patterns inspired by botanical forms and medieval architecture. Utilizing this information, students set out on a bold task to create 2-part color reduction relief prints. The results were stunning!
