The first step is checking that she is water-tight.
My first time putting her in the water. With the new rollers on the trailer she came off easily.
As this was for a water-tight test I only needed the hull. No mast, rudder, engine, etc.
I walked her around to a sandy beach and left her there for a while. No water on the port side where I had fixed the hull, but a trace on the starboard side (could be the new bung seals not on tight enough, or more likely, the run off from my wet shoes and shorts as the cockpit sole is not refitted yet).
All good, so now to go sailing!
First sail 9 July 2019
We drove 40 minutes from home to the south end of Wallis Lake at Pacific Palms. No wind to speak off, which was great for the first test.
Nice ramp - plenty of room!
Walking her to the jetty.
Outboard running for the first time! It runs really nicely.
Heading out for the first test.
The lake is quite shallow close in, so long way out before getting the sails up.
Successful afternoon.
