This was a three week tour with Trafalgar Tours, taking us from London to Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France.
Now, we are not people for taking organised tours, but this was a really enjoyable trip, probably because it was ably managed by our very experienced tour director Gerry Baines, and the fellow passengers who were all great.
We had already been in Ireland and Scotland for the previous few weeks and had flown down from Glasgow to London the day before this tour started.
Up every early to get the taxi around to the reception centre. Hopefully the last of the pinch points for two month trip. From the Reception Centre we headed down to Dover to catch the ferry to Calais and went through customs and immigration. The sun came out as we crossed over. We drove through Belgium to Bruges and took a guided tour though the very old city. Dinner was in a restaurant across the square from the hotel. Nice hotel that had been a monastery.

Because of fog at Dubai we had to go into a holding pattern for nearly an hour. But we had plenty of time to transfer terminals by train and again the A380 left pretty much on time. Today was only an 18 hour day for us as we headed east. Most of it was siting at 38000 feet.
We arrived back in Sydney pretty much on schedule and got the train up to the Central Coast to stop at my son's place overnight...and sleep!
The end of a fantastic trip!
