rough cheese scones

ingredients

1½ cups SR flour

salt

shake cayenne and white pepper

1 cup grated cheese

1 teaspoon wholegrain mustard

½ onion, chopped

1 tablespoon butter/margarine

1 egg, beaten

½ cup milk (or enough for moist mixture)


method

Sift flour and combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Melt butter, and add with beaten egg and milk and stir roughly (just enough to combine). With a teaspoon place lumps of mixture (roughly) onto a greased oven tray and bake in a hot oven for 10-12 minutes. Remove from tray and wrap scones in a clean tea-towel or serve immediately.
