mcjToneToTone (PC) and mcjToneToTonePlus PC/Mac

Introduction

mcjToneToTone is a script + a PCV-Only .exe/App

mcjToneToTonePlus is a script + a Daz Studio plugin for PC and for MACs

Both kits let you color-correct the skin tones in an image, usually a render

using the skin-tone (hue) comes from another image, ex: a studio photo

Installation

The zip packages for the scripts are found at the bottom of this page

MCJTONETOTONE.ZIP and MCJTONETOTONEPLUS.ZIP

unzip it in your daz content folder, typically

C:\Program Files\DAZ\Studio\content\

C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ\Studio\content\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under Studio / Scripts / mcasual

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under My DAZ 3D Library / Scripts / mcasual

For the mcjToneToTone script you must download the executable for your Windows PC

MCJREMAPPCWIN64BITS.ZIP or MCJREMAPPCWIN32BITS.ZIP

i placed the .exe files in zip files, because many browsers will refuse to download straight .exe files

For the mcjToneToTonePlus script you must download the plugin (dll )

mcjRemap32bit.dll or mcjRemap64bit.dll and place it in the appropriate Daz Studio Plugin folder

on my PC That's

32 bit goes in C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins

and

64 bit goes in C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins

For MACs the plugin file is named MCJREMAP.DYLIB

I packaged it in a zip file named MCJREMAP.DYLIB.ZIP to increase the chances that google and your MAC allows you to download it.

on my macbook i placed it in /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/plugins

USE

mcjToneToTone

The mcjToneToTone script requires the PC-Only application mcjRemap.exe

You must click the script's [Set Path To mcjRemap.exe] button and browse to mcjRemap.exe

This only needs to be done once, the script will remember the location

Even if the script runs on a Mac, you wont be able to process the images.

mcjToneToTonePlus

The mcjToneToTonePlus uses a plugin as the workhorse see installation instructions and make sure you placed the plugin file in the appropriate daz studio plugin folder

Work it

In the left pane, select a rendered image you wish to improve

In the center pane, select an image containing skin tones you prefer

Mouse-click in the left image to select a circular area containing some skin pixels

Mouse-click in the center image to select a circular area containing some skin pixels

Note that you can specify a smaller or larger radius for the circles

Avoid selecting non-skin pixels

Click the [ToneToTone] button in the right pane

mcjRemap will produce an improved copy of your source image but with the suffix 'Out'

The script will only overwrite existing output files if you use the [Allow...] check-box.
