Installation

The zip package for the script is found at the bottom of this page

mcjLUTB2022.zip or the older mcjLUT_the script.zip and mcjLUTB_the script.zip

unzip it in your daz content folder, typically

C:\Program Files\DAZ\Studio\content\

or

C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ\Studio\content\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under Studio / Scripts / mcasual

or

C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\

once installed, it will appear in your content library, under My DAZ 3D Library / Scripts / mcasual

You must also download the appropriate mcjLUT plugin (dll )

mcjLUT32bit.dll or mcjLUT64bit.dll and place it in the appropriate Daz Studio Plugin folder

on my PC That's

32 bit goes in C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins

and

64 bit goes in C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins

For MACs the plugin file is named MCJLUT.DYLIB

I packaged it in a zip file named MCJLUT.DYLIB.ZIP to increase the chances that google and your MAC allows you to download it.

on my macbook i placed it in /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4 64-bit/plugins

USE

The mcjLUT script uses a plugin as the workhorse see the installation instructions above and make sure you placed the plugin file in the appropriate daz studio plugin folder

In the left pane, select a rendered image you wish to improve

In the center pane, use the [Select LUT (.cube)] button and select one of the .cube files you got on the web

ex: https://www.rocketstock.com/free-after-effects-templates/35-free-luts-for-color-grading-videos/

If your image is part of a sequence of images, the image count will be displayed in the lower left corner

iOIn the right pane, use the [browse...] button to specify the base name of the output image file

ex: c:/finalpics/filtered.jpg

use the [] button to process just this one image

use the [] button to process the whole sequence of images

mcjLUTB what's different

1 - Instant preview !

with mcjLUTB you select the folder where your LUTs (.cube) files are stored

and the script lets you select a specific LUT file from a drop-down list

and check this out ! the left display image instantly lets you prevew the result of applying this LUT to your input image

2 - Auto-naming of the output image(s)

with mcjLUTB if you check-mark the "Output filename + input + _out" then the output image(s) filename(s) will be like the input filename(s) but with a _out suffix.

New July21st 2021 mcjCubeLUTNormalizer

This script takes a .cube LUT file

and brings all data values in the [0..1] range

why? mcjLUT only works for .cube files in the [0..1] range

but some .cube files contain negative values and values greater than 1

NEW July 28th 2021

the mcjLUT plugin now has the blend/mixer function

and automatically normalizes the bizarre LUT/.cube tables

Don't forget you have to put it in the Daz Studio plugin folder

mcjLUT64bit Plugin For Windows.zip

mcjLUT64bit.dylib Plugin For MACs.zip

The 3 scripts ( get all 3 ) now have a blender/mixer slider

( as long as you replaced the old plugin with the new one )

Some non-lethal bugs were fixed and well that's about it

by Blend/Mix i mean if you set the blend slider at 20% the output image will be 20% of the re-colorized image mixed with 80% of the original image
