The Instructors

Laura A. Ewald, author, editor, and public speaker, worked thirteen years as a university librarian, first at Murray State University (Murray, KY) and then at Greenville College (now University, Greenville, IL). As a Reference/Instruction Librarian, Ms. Ewald taught research strategies at the undergraduate, graduate, and faculty levels and did her own research and writing for professional and scholarly publications.

Her work history began with an interview that got her a job as a Park Aide with the Washington State Parks right out of high school and has included employment ranging from office assistant, computer graphics, and product research to a brief stint in the Peace Corps and a summer as a camp business manager, to a newsletter editor and secretary before settling down as a library faculty member, where she sat on multiple search committees for new hires. Ms. Ewald holds degrees in Classical Studies, Drama, Library Science, and Organizational Communication, and she brings this eclectic academic background to her current role as a full-time freelancer. A recent happy transplant to the “Deep South,” Ms. Ewald shares her Picayune, Mississippi, home with her elderly parents and an ever-changing assortment of adopted stray cats.
