From Outcome to Process

Islam teaches us entirely different lessons. Just like Islam brought a revolution in the world when it first came it still has the potential to do the same and bring a revolution just like it did 1400 years ago. Many of the concepts that Islam teaches are radically opposed to what we teach in today’s economics. In economics only thing matters is the outcome but not the process by which we get to that outcome. All is fair in accusation of wealth just like all is fair in love and war. As long as long any country can have control on oil reserves of other country it’s perfectly legitimate either to do carpet bombing, kill innocent children and do whatever they want to. If any country has power to destroy the country for its gain then it gives right to do so. Islamic teachings preach that it’s not the consequences which matters but process for getting particular outcome is also crucial. It’s not whether loose or win but what matters is how we play the game. Success doesn’t mean winning the game but success is achieved instantly when person do what is right and it doesn’t matter whether game is won or loose at the end. If the methodology, by which we strive for success, is changed then whole game changes and this exactly happened in early period of Islam.
