[A review of mankind from inception to demise, an apocalyptic treatise
set to Dervish-inspired whirling rhythm.]
The story goes, from the beginning
God created us with detail and care.
He did us a good turn, and built us a body,
and blew into it, enlivening the cells.
He gave us distinctions over the animals,
He gave us a mind so we could mull various matters.
Then He left us to our device
And just in case, He left us with ten commandments.
Ten commandments, ten commandments.
Adam and Eve, he and she, in the garden, were together.
God called them and said unto them:
"My children, all this is a gift from me to you.
Do anything you wish to do,
but whatever you do, don't go close to that one tree."
So what they did do, by virtue of their intelligence,
was incur the wrath of God upon their children.
