I am Human (1990) [Music by Mr Walid Itayim]
["I am Human" delves into personal feelings of disenchantment with this disheveled nation we call home.]
I am human, and every human loses hope
Forgets the meaning of life when faced with failure
If his land and country are stricken with paralysis
Paralysis reaches his own limbs and he knows not what to do
I am loyal to Lebanon even though it's full of problems
I live in a world of illusion, my mind is malfunctioning
My hair's turned gray, my heart's melted away, my faith shaken
My nation's been sold and my people dispersed, my love disappointed
A man should realize when he has been beaten
And that a sinking ship would drag him with it, to the bottom
And he should know that it's of no use to feel any regret
And an anguished cry leaves no echo on paper or with pen
May God save you, Lebanon, from the hands of men
Their eyes don't see the light, their hearts are made of stone
Forgive me for hiding away, awaiting some good news from you
I might return to you one day, if Fate will have it.
