A Cub Scout Fundraiser

It's that time of year again. All the kid's organizations are trying to raise funds for next years operations.

The Cub Scouts are no exception. My Grandson, Allen, in his third year of Cub Scouts, is selling the Cub Scouts Popcorn this year. He spent quite a bit of time Saturday door knocking and selling popcorn with a couple of his scouting buddies.The Cub Scouts also can sell their popcorn on line AND still get credit for it. It's set up so that each parent can arrange for an online link for popcorn purchases that will go to the credit of their scout.Allen's Link to Sell Popcorn credited to his Cub Scout Popcorn Sales Account.

"Trail's End has made a lot of improvements this year. All microwave products are made with canola oil and all chocolate products contain no hydrogenated oils, so there are plenty of healthy, flavorful snacks to choose from.

Different from most fund raising, 70% of the popcorn price goes back to the Cub Scouts Local Council, his unit and HIS Scout Rewards.

I happen to think they're one of the better boy's organizations. Of course, my perception is based on my own Cub Scout experiences years and years ago along with those camping trips where I've had the pleasure of accompanying Allen over the last three years. Why does it always rain when the Cub Scouts go camping?
