236th Marine Corps Birthday
"Freedom is not free, but the U.S. Marine Corps will pay most of your share!" Ned Dolan
"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But the Marines don't have that problem." Ronald Reagan
On November 10th, 1775 (236 years ago) the United States Congress created the greatest fighting force on earth.
The United States Marine Corps.
Please join me in wishing the United States Marine Corps a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a big thank you for being there for us.
And while we're at it, please remember to thank veterans of all of the armed services branches on the following day, Friday, November 11th, 2011 which is Veterans Day.
From an unknown veteran: "There is no better way to say it. A Veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The People of the United States of America", for an amount of - up to and including my life. That is honor!"
More frequently than I care for, that check is cashed.
To all veterans, living and dead, I thank you for writing that check!
