Collapse of old Syrian houses kills 24

At least 24 people were killed when

old houses in Syria collapsed, the

country's interior ministry has said.

A further 21 are injured following the

cave-in, in the north-western city

of Aleppo.

Aleppo's governor, Osama Uday, is

reported as saying that old caverns

beneath the homes led to the pre-dawn

collapse in Syria's second largest city.

News agency Sana did not know how many

homes had been affected.
