The Go Masters is a film jointly produced and directed by Chinese and Japanese filmmakers. It follows the story of a Chinese Go player (Yishan) who attempts to find his son in Japan after WWII. Yishan's son, A-Ming, had been taken to Japan to train as a Go player before the onset of WWII. As the war erupted, however, we see the Japanese destruction of China and A-Ming's resulting struggle to find his identity. The film was very popular in China upon its release, and well-received in Japan.
