Adrift in Tokyo is a film directed by MIKI Satoshi. It follows Fumiya - an 8th year university student - as he accompanies Fukuhara - a loan collector - to the Kasumigaseki Police Station. Fukuhara, overcome by guilt for having murdered his wife, is willing to give Fumiya the money he needs to pay off his debt if Fumiya walks with him through Tokyo. Fumiya agrees, and Fukuhara takes him through the city to places he enjoyed visiting with his wife. Fumiya, never really having a family, begins to feel a bond with Fukuhara. In their last few days before Fukuhara turns himself in, Fumiya realizes that he doesn't want Fukuhara to leave. Fukuhara takes Fumiya out to an amusement park, giving Fumiya a sense of family and encouraging him to come to terms with Fukuhara's departure.
