Rikyu is a film directed by TESHIGAHARA Hiroshi. It follows the life of SEN no Rikyu, often considered the first tea master of Japan. In this film, we are introduced to Rikyu during his time serving under ODA Nobunaga. Viewers then witness Rikyu's relationship with TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi grow, until things become strained due to Rikyu's hesitation to become involved in political affairs. As Hideyoshi becomes increasingly frustrated with Rikyu's lack of support, the film concludes with Rikyu's ritual suicide by the command of Hideyoshi.
