"The Crows and the Girl" is a manga written and illustrated by NISHIOKA Kyoudai, a brother and sister pair. The manga reads more like an illustrated poem, and tells the story of a dead girl who is being picked apart by crows. It offers a very bleak outlook on disaster in Japan, not putting forth any hope or sympathy for the viewers. The narrator criticizes ignorance but says there is nothing to be done except to "pray in vain."
