Ping Pong is a film directed by SORI Fumihiko. This film follows two high schoolers, nicknamed Smile and Peco, who have become close friends through years of playing ping pong. As part of their school's ping pong team, they compete against local schools. Smile claims to play to pass the time, and never plays as well as he truly can, despite knowing how talented he is. Peco strives to be the best, and seeks to beat everyone who challenges him. After losing to a rival school, Peco leaves the ping-pong scene out of frustration, and Smile must undergo training from their ping-pong coach. Upon realizing that he must take the sport seriously, Peco begins to train and eventually meets Smile in the final round of the next tournament. In the conclusion of the film, it is revealed that Smile becomes a ping-pong teacher, while Peco is living his dream as a professional ping-pong player.
