Hi! My name is Christa and I am a Sophomore at The International School of the Americas. I am 16 years old. My hobbies are reading, knitting, listening to music, and playing on the computer. I have two cats, a gray one named Angel and a tabby named Kitten. I can't wait to go to Japan this summer! I'm so excited to learn even more about Japanese culture and have fun on this trip.  :)

Hey. My name is Jordan and I'm 15 years old. I'm a freshman attend the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Academy school on the Lee campus. I live in San Antonio with my parents and my two b rothers. I am the middle child out of three kids, an older brother named Taylor and a twin brother named Robert. I love to listen to music, hanging out with my family and friends, reading a good romance or suspense book, and watching horror or a good comedy movie. I am a very out going person who loves to laugh, have a good time, and try new things. I have never been to any other country, so I'm very excited to be able to go with the ISA School on the trip to Japan this summer.

My name is Madison and I am 18 years old. I am a senior at the International School of Americas, and I also attend the North East School of the Arts. I live in San Antonio, Texas with my father and mother. I have two dogs, two cats, and seven snakes. My hobbies are listening to music, of all genres, drawing, and photography. I have always wanted to travel to Japan, and I cannot wait to go this summer.

Hello my names Johanna, and I’m a junior at the International school of the Americas. I am 17, and currently I live in San Antonio Texas with my mother. In my free time I like to Draw, read, sew, and hang out with my friends, or go online. In the future I really want to go to college and study linguistics, but that’s all kind of up in the air right now… but it’d be nice if that happened. I am really excited to go to Japan, and I can’t express how happy I am to be a part of this experience!


My name is Scott, and I love music. I play the cello and guitar, but I attempt to play many more. I listen to, and love, almost every other type of music. I also enjoy being in the outdoors, enjoying nature or exploring cities with friends. I am 16 at the International School of the Americas, a sophomore. I am an only child, and I live with my mother and father and one dog. We travel together all the time, and I have been to Mexico, Costa Rica, and all over the United States. I am really excited about visiting Japan! I really enjoy learning about new people and cultures, along with normal classtime learning. Once I graduate high school I am planning on attending college in California and studying engineering or music theory and performance. Mathematics is my favorite subject, behind music.

My name is Mikelty, and I go to the International School of the Americas '10. I am 15 years old, and a Cancer/Dog, depending on the zodiac. I like to draw, write, and play video games. My grandmother was born in Okinawa, so I am 1/4 Japanese. I hope to have a lot of fun in Japan.

Hello!  I'm Camille, a Sophomore at ISA!  I'm currently 15 years old. I'm the oldest of three girls, and I have two dogs and two cats. I love drinking tea and cuddling up in a soft blanket with a good book! I love music and art, and I love doodling everywhere. I love nature, clouds, and trees, it's all so enthralling to look at! My favorite colors are all blues and greens and everything in between, my favorite animal is a cat. My sign is Gemini, and I was born in the year of the dog.  It's been my dream to go to Japan since seventh grade,  and I'm absolutely thrilled that I get to be a part of this trip! 


My name is Robert. I am 15 years old and am a Sophomore at Lee high school. I'm an only child and I live with my mother in San Antonio,Texas. I love to help people and learn about new culture.I have 2 pets a cat named Shasha and a dog named Dulce.I don't really have any hobbies. One day I hope to move to Japan and study there, so this will be a learning trip for me.

I have never traveled outside the country, and Japan is where I've been wanting to go for a very long time.  I have 2 dogs and a sugar glider, and I live with my mother in San Antonio, Texas.

Konnichiwa, I am a Global Art instructor, Technology and Japanese Exchange Coordinator at the International School of the Americas.  I live in San Antonio, Texas with my two dogs, Girli and Buddy.  My hobbies include gardening , cooking, and technology.  My first trip to Japan in the summer of 2000 was as a fellow for the Fulbright Memorial Fund Master Teacher Program.again in 2003. One of the highlights of my Japan experiences came in the summer of  2009 when I participated in a Fulbright Hays Study Tour. We followed the path of the 17th century Japanese poet, Matsuo Basho. Since 2001 I have been coordinating student exchanges to Takayama.  Our sister school there is Takayama Nishi High School.
 Japan is beautiful.  June is warm and humid.  Green is everywhere.  My eyes are  filled with wonder.
