"Tier Two" or Academic Vocabulary
Robyn Dowling Grant, our ELL leader in town, has been emphasizing the importance of helping ELL students
(really all students by extension) to expand their knowledge of Tier Two or academic vocabulary words, which
are used across all disciplines, in addition to Tier Three or "specialized or content-specific" vocabulary words
(words such as metaphor, isotope, mitosis, photosynthesis, etc.) To imply is definitely an all-purpose academic word, a good place to start.
Here is a Google Presentation inserted into this Google Site webpage featuring the word "imply" and related forms.
