In this painting “the shot heard around the world” By Domenick D’ Andrea has lots of meaning not only to me but to everyone in Lexington in Concord. I really like how you can see both the Patriots and the English soldiers firing at each other from across the old Concord Bridge. I also think that Domenick did a great job with lots of detail. For example you can see the smoke from all of the musket fire. I also find it very amazing how you can see the dying American soldiers that have just been hit by the British guns. The one thing in this painting I find a little bit interesting is that that it does not look like it is taking place at 6 in the morning, because we all know that is when the battle happened. The most amazing thing about this painting is that you can clearly see that there are more wounded British than wounded Patriots. In the real fight the patriots killed most of the British on the Concord Bridge. -- Henry C.

The painting titled Mountain Rainer by artist Albert Bierstadt is an incredible scenic painting that features a mind-blowing environment that is both peaceful and beautiful. It is exceptionally calm in the environment that he has produced in his painting; there are no automobiles or inhabitants in sight or anything else that can disturb the beauty of this astounding setting. By just looking at this magnificent piece of art, you can see the extensive amount of time and effort that Albert Bierstadt put into creating this painting. The things that are happening in this painting take place on dazzling, sunny day without a single cloud to be seen. The mountain in this painting stands tall like an immense skyscraper over the extensive river that swirls in front of the mountain like a ribbon. Very few paintings exist that feature an environment that is as wondrous and tremendously well done as Albert Bierstadt’s “Mountain Rainer”. -- Peter S.
