El grupo de investigación ILESEARCH orienta tres semilleros de investigación: IPLEX, GAIA e IPP in ELT. Esto responde a la necesidad de proporcionar formación investigativa a los estudiantes del Programa de Licenciatura en Lenguas Extranjeras con Énfasis en Inglés de la Universidad Surcolombiana. Los tres semilleros fueron creados y aprobados a través de resoluciones expedidas por el Consejo de Facultad de Educación y desarrollan proyectos de investigación aprobados a través de convocatorias internas de la Vicerrectoría de Investigación y Proyección Social de la Universidad Surcolombiana.
Desde el año 2018 los semilleros IPLEX y GAIA desarrollaron proyectos de investigación como The impact of making an art exhibition in the oral competence of children from 4th and 5th grade in Albergue Infantil Mercedes Perdomo De Liévano; Factors that influence students dropout of Institutional Foreign Language Course - Level 1; Factors that influence students dropout of Institutional Foreign Language Course - Level 2, Development of the oral competence in 11th grade students from San Miguel Arcángel School; "Virtual learning in the times of covid-19"; y "Procesos de fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural del Cabildo Cimarrona Alta".
A medida que el grupo de Investigación Ilesearch se fortalecía, para el año 2023 se creó un nuevo semillero de investigación denominado IPP in ELT. Todos los semilleros han contribuido al desarrollo de las líneas de investigación del grupo, anidando un trabajo colaborativo y comprometido entre los estudiantes y los profesores, cumpliendo de esta manera con la misión de la Universidad Surcolombiana.

The ILESEARCH research group guides three research incubators: IPLEX, GAIA, and IPP in ELT. This responds to the need to provide research training to students in the Bachelor's Program in Foreign Languages with an Emphasis in English at the Universidad Surcolombiana. The three incubators were created and approved through resolutions issued by the Faculty of Education Council and develop research projects approved through internal calls from the Vice-Rector's Office for Research and Social Outreach at the Universidad Surcolombiana.
Since 2018, the IPLEX and GAIA incubators have developed research projects such as "The Impact of Making an Art Exhibition on the Oral Competence of Children from 4th and 5th Grade in Albergue Infantil Mercedes Perdomo De Liévano"; "Factors That Influence Students' Dropout from an Institutional Foreign Language Course - Level 1"; Factors that influence student dropout from Institutional Foreign Language Course - Level 2, Development of oral competence in 11th-grade students from San Miguel Arcángel School; "Virtual learning in the times of COVID-19"; and "Processes of strengthening the cultural identity of the Cabildo Cimarrona Alta."
As the Ilesearch research group grew stronger, a new research group called IPP in ELT was created in 2023. All groups have contributed to the development of the group's lines of research, fostering collaborative and committed work between students and faculty, thus fulfilling the mission of the Universidad Surcolombiana.
