David Alfonso Suaza Cardozo es docente de inglés en contextos rurales en el municipio de Garzón, Huila, y se desempeña también como profesor catedrático adscrito al programa de Lengua Extranjera – Inglés de la Universidad Surcolombiana, sede Garzón. Realizó sus estudios de pregrado y posgrado en dicha universidad y ha trabajado como docente en los niveles de educación básica, media y superior en diversas instituciones públicas y privadas.
En su pregrado, desarrolló la investigación titulada “Imaginarios de los estudiantes de tercero de primaria sobre el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera” como trabajo de grado, enfocada en develar los significados construidos por los estudiantes respecto al aprendizaje del idioma extranjero. Posteriormente, en la Maestría en Didáctica del Inglés, sus intereses investigativos se orientaron hacia la construcción de significados a través de las multiliteracidades video-mediadas.
Actualmente cursa el Doctorado en Ciencias de la Educación en la Universidad del Tolima, donde investiga temas relacionados con violencias, paces y conflictos en los testimonios de docentes escolares en el Huila.
David Alfonso Suaza Cardozo is an English teacher in rural contexts in the municipality of Garzón, Huila, and also serves as an adjunct professor in the Foreign Language – English program at Universidad Surcolombiana, Garzón campus. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the same university, and has worked as a teacher at the primary, secondary, and higher education levels in various public and private institutions.
For his undergraduate degree, he conducted a research project titled “Imaginarios de los estudiantes de tercero de primaria sobre el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera” (Third Grade Students’ Perceptions about Learning English as a Foreign Language), which focused on uncovering the meanings constructed by students regarding foreign language learning. Later, during his master’s studies in English Didactics, his research interests centered on meaning-making through video-mediated multiliteracies.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences at Universidad del Tolima, where his research addresses issues related to violence, peace, and conflict in the testimonies of school teachers in Huila.
