Dear Colleague,
It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Ms. Amanda Hagerl a Secondary Education Health and Social Studies graduate of Northern Michigan University. She is an excellent teacher and merits strong consideration for a teaching position in your school district.
Ms. Hagerl was a double major and as such received student teacher supervision from both the History and Health Departments. I represented the History Department and 4 times observed Ms. Hagerl in the classroom and evaluated her work. I am pleased to report her performance was very strong including the following: (1) lesson plan construction-implementation; (2) classroom management-teacher presence; (3) content knowledge-material utilization; (4) and professionalism. Ms. Hagerl was also very active outside the classroom. I cite for example an intramural volleyball program for middle school students she developed and ran. Furthermore, Ms. Hagerl demonstrated a willingness to accept constructive criticism from her supervising teacher and me. Ms. Hagerl is an individual very comfortable in the total school environment and community.
This is my thirty-ninth year in education including 25 in the secondary social studies classroom and administration. I am pleased to rank Ms. Amanda Hagerl among the top 10 percent of individuals entering the teaching profession. Without hesitation I recommend Ms. Hagerl to you for a teaching position. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Howard L. Nicholson, Ph.D.
