"Excellent job in getting lessons together. Stays late to make sure she has
everything that she needs."
-Sara Moyle, Bothwell Middle School
The state standards have helped me a great deal in my student teaching experience this semester. By following the the Michigan health education standards as well as the National Council for Social Studies standards I am able to align my daily lessons with those standards. Each lesson I teach corresponds with one of the varying standards, by doing this I am making sure that my students are being taught the information that is essential and valuable to the state.
Below is a photo taken after my "Super 8 Nutrient Hero" Lesson.
The lesson allowed students to learn the important nutrient for their body, as well as introduction to the 8 main nutrients we would be covering during the class. The student created a costume as well as presented the main facts to their classmates.
I always have my students engage in movement during my lessons. Planning activities in my lessons give the student meaning to the material is how I feel I can best reach my students. At the bottom the page you will find several examples I have attached that provide evidence that I am capable of thoroughly planning lesson plans that alight with state and national standards, as well as developing learning experiences for my students.

Nutritional Health Jeopardy PowerPoint Game
(Attached as Final Nutrition Jeopardy Review.pps)
This PowerPoint interactive jeopardy game is a method I used during the last week of my Nutritional Health class. This activity is a fun way for students to review the main topics that we previously discussed.

(Attached as Recreation1.docx and recreation2.docx)
This lesson is from a two week unit on Geography of The Great Lakes Region. This was the wrap up of the lesson and I created a website using Google sites to use during the lesson. I also used a tic-tac-toe set up for the lesson.
