Worm Towers

If I try to use 6"PVC, I can't get it at HomeDepot/Lowes--best price was Ferguson WaterWorks (7-5pm).

All the examples I;ve seen were made from 6" PVC pipe. But that only comes in 20ft "sticks" & cost is $110-130/ea. I might have to try it with 4" pvc or some other material--could just make it of 5' 3/4" x 6" cedar fence boards fastened together in a square tube. That might even be better in some ways because the cedar breathes & insulates. + looks rustic.

Worm Towers-- a condo for them right where we need them.It’s best to have them in a shady spot so they don’t overheat in the summer.

I'm curious how far the worms wander from the tower---to know how far apart to put them--how far do they wander?
