1) Proposed Changes to Medical Protocol Regarding HIV RNA Quals
Voting item. Our current protocol calls for HIV RNA quals to be ordered for PrEP follow-ups, following CDC guidelines (p.31 CDC Guidelines for PrEP Management). The price of the test is significant at 98.25 per test (7/27-8/24 Lab Costs). A recent study has shown that this test recommendation does not add clinical value. The cost of BFC's labs are a significant expense. Members of GMTHC are proposing a change to our protocol to remove this test from our routine PrEP follow-up to reduce BFC's lab costs.
2) Voting in the Trainees
Voting item. GMTHC training collective will propose the voting in of our 2025 medic trainee cohort.
3) New Secondary CSC Rep
Voting item. Since Che is stepping down, we need to vote in someone to take their place. Volunteers?
4) Areas of Improvement On-Shift
Non-voting item. We received some feedback regarding the cleanliness of our van exam rooms and the proper sharing of the space with lifelong. How can we improve?
5) Off-boarding Volunteers
Non-voting item. Intended to gauge thoughts and ideas behind an updated protocol for off-boarding inactive volunteers.
6) Volunteer to Learn Inventory and Ordering
Non-voting item. We need one or two people to learn how we check inventory and order meds, labcorp, and phleb supplies used by GMTHC and other sections. We need a backup for Stuart, plus Diana Nguyen, who has ordered some of these supplies and many others for several sections, is stepping down from that role. It would help for a few more people to get involved in these essential aspects of the clinic's operations.
