Agenda:
1) Training Collective 2025
2) Trans Proposals
Proposal 1: Change the Collective name to GTHC, or Gay/Trans Health Collective.
To reflect the range of identities of our medics and to clearly articulate our ability and desire to serve the trans population.
Action Items:
Email the clinic informing them of the name change
Update the name on Athena, Acuity, intake documents, BFC website, social media, etc.
Add. if there's concern that we want to be more specific about "Gay", might we consider GMTHC? (Gay Men's/Trans' Health Collective)
Proposal 2: Schedule a trans-care-specific training for all current (and prospective) medics.
To refresh the training we do have on caring for trans clients and fill any gaps in our knowledge. Ideally a training day similar to the ones we do during regular training
Action Items:
Identify an appropriate instructor (trans-preferred, or very experienced with trans clients)
Work with them to create a plan for training
Reserve space at BFC, schedule training with medics and instructor.
3) Services Document Proposal
Proposal 3: Create a document for admin staff and IRC to let clients know what services we provide.
Although the protocol on this is clear, there is still confusion about when and why we see cis female clients, and what care we are able to give. Additionally, I've seen a few clients recently who were here for treatment that is out-of-scope for the clinic. Having a document on hand for the front desk staff and IRC will help clear up confusion.
Action Items:
Work with Admin Staff to create a useful document
Get document approval from collective
Print and laminate for admin and IRC usage
Clarify what the protocol is for making an exception, what situations we will not make exceptions for.
4) Phleb Proposal
Proposal 4: Move Phleb to a stationary position in Dental.
Recently we've tried this with Ron and Scott, and both times in my opinion it's increased the efficiency of clinic operations. The way we've done it is to run the whole appointment minus phleb in the exam room, then send the client back to the lobby, letting them know that they'll be called by their initials to get their blood drawn. Then write on the sticker sheet itself the blood order (specifying for things like HIV rapid) and place it face-down in the intake box in the Phleb room. This way, exam rooms are freed up for exams, and clients can do their waiting in the waiting room!
5) Aayush's LoR
6) New Protocol
Proposal 5: Approve the updated protocol with M. gen changes

Proposal 8: Custom BFC merch for our section
