MegaMax Misc

Dave Writes:

Hi Eric, I found your page on the EETools MegaMax and really looked hard at it because I went through a lot of that searching when I first acquired my programmers, yes I have 2 but very few of those SIM modules. I contacted the company quite a few years back and was greeted graciously at first but then the founder became enraged when I asked him for some detailed info on those SIMs. So I never expanded my cards and put the device away since I had a few other ones including a RomMax-4G that I use to do my 2532s with an adapter, 2732s, 2716s, and a few 27128s. I recently acquired some TMS2716s and quickly found I can't do them because they are the 3 voltage non-standard pinout version. I also use my Cubit programmer with my AIM-65s that I find to be my most reliable one for the 2532s. I made an adapter with extra voltage rails to read the TMS2716s, erased them and checked them again for all FFs. You know that most programmers can't distinguish between a blown Vcc EPROM and one that's erased because they both read all FFs. I have an extra 2A/2B if you know of someone needing it and a 3A/3B. I don't really have much use for this model so I might sell the MegaMax off if someone really has a use for them.

Just wanted you to know that your work is appreciated. I contributed whatever I can to the AIM-65 community since I used to sell them and the 3rd party vendors' offerings back in the late 1970s as EXCERT, INC. My website is now dark but I buy, repair, and resell them on eBay and Rich Cini has my AIM page up on his site.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts or interests in anything. I also know quite a bit about Intel as I worked for them as well as MMI and Signetics.
