Amber came into my life in 2017, rescued by Edward V while he was living here. She took a shine to me almost immediately, and we’ve been close ever since. One of her favorite things is stretching out across my upper body and purring — she’ll sometimes stay there until I need to get up or decide to watch a video. But lately, she has become attached to Joy, as well.
She treats the two of us in completely different ways. With me, she stretches out across my chest while I’m watching TV in the living room, perfectly content to be petted until I shift or stand up. With Joy, she settles in beside her and relaxes, sometimes even allowing a brief belly rub — a rare privilege in the feline world. In many ways, Amber feels like a reconstituted Prowler… just with a much longer tail.
She’s got her quirks, her routines, and her unmistakable personality, but Amber is part of the household — and part of my heart.
All of these photos were taken within the last several years and nope, she hasn't changed much. Just got a few more freckles.
