NCAA Eligibility or NCAA (Division I, II, III)
NCAA Eligibility
To be eligible to compete in Division I, students must earn a minimum core-course GPA of 2.3 with a corresponding test score on the sliding scale and meet the core-course requirements. Students hoping to compete in Division II must earn a minimum core-course GPA of 2.2 with a corresponding test score on the sliding scale and meet the core-course requirement.
To compete at an NCAA Division I or II school, an athlete must be certified by the Eligibility Center. Before going on an official visit or signing a Division I or II National Letter of Intent, the Certification registration must be complete (including payment or fee waiver).
Student-athletes being recruited by or planning to attend a Division I or II school should create a Certification account, while students planning to attend a Division III school or who are not sure where they want to attend should create a free Profile Page account. Students should only create one account, as they can transition their Profile Page to a Certification account when needed. A Certification account is needed when a student-athlete is placed on a Division I or II school’s institutional request list, for Division I or II official visits, or when signing a National Letter of Intent.
If a student-athlete plans to compete at a Division III school or currently is not sure in which division to compete, they should create a free Profile Page account. If at any time a Division I or II path is chosen, a student can transition to a Certification account. (You cannot move from a Certification account to a Profile Page account.
NCAA Approved Graves County High School Core Courses
The list of NCAA courses are maintained as a guide for prospective student-athletes seeking NCAA initial-eligibility. The list of approved courses is subject to change at any time and without notice. Core course information is provided for guidance purposes only and should not be solely relied on as an indication of NCAA initial-eligibility. Certification of a prospective student-athlete is case-specific, and the Eligibility Center has the authority to determine in its sole discretion whether the prospective student-athlete has met all criteria.
The NCAA permits a student to receive credit for a core course only one time. If a student completes a course that is duplicative in content with another core course, the student will only receive credit for one of the duplicative courses, and the course with the highest grade earned will be included in the calculation of the student's core course grade point average.
