National Merit Scholarship Program and National Achievement Scholarship Program are conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation each year as an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. Entrance in the program is gained by taking the PSAT/ NMSQT in October of the JUNIOR year. Scores determine a student’s continuance in the program. PSAT information, deadlines, and fees for registration will be announced in the fall in junior English classes. Underclassmen are eligible to take the PSAT; however, the scores won’t be considered for National Merit Scholarships.
