Think of the FSE Game World website as the flight office. This is where you interact with all the functions of the game. Once you log in to the FSE Game World website, you'll see the main navigation bar with all options enabled. This page of the user manual gives a brief introduction to all of the menu items, as well as descriptions of some of the simpler pages. Other pages have their own dedicated section within the rest of the manual.
The FSE Game World Menu system is across the top of all Game World webpages. All menu header items are clickable; additionally, most menu header items also contain dropdowns with several sub-menu items. If you own, or belong to, an FSE Flight Group, access to the same pages will be via a slide-out to each sub-menu item. Selecting the main option (ignoring the sub-menu) will show your personal information while selecting the name of a flight group in the sub-menu will give you the data for the flight group.
Clicking on the menu heading, Home", returns to the main Game World Homepage
The preferences page has several globally-defined options for your Game World Account. The following items are available with descriptions as necessary:
Change email address. If you update your Game World email address, don't forget to update your FSE Communities password as well.
Show/Hide Payments to self in logs. Some in-game actions result in "you paying yourself", which can be confusing to see in your payment log entries. Hiding payments to yourself will ignore these "payments" when displaying your payment log, which may reduce some confusion. (see logs or banking for more information)
Show Log Times in GMT or Local. Your flight logs and payment logs have timestamps that can be displayed in either GMT/UTC time, or in your local time zone (as determined by your computer and browser settings).
Rental ban list. This allows you to ban individual players, by username, from renting your aircraft. Type any and all user(s) you wish to exclude from renting your aircraft. Separate each username by a comma. You are responsible for ensuring the correct spelling of the username - this text box will accept any text that you type, regardless of whether it is a valid FSE user account.
Service Access Permissions. This section allows you to work with 3rd-party user applications who may request access to your data. This could be useful for Services that perform an auto-withdrawal for lease payments or that manage your aircraft fleet (just as two examples). You can grant that access by adding the Service using the drop down menu to select the Service Name. By default, simply adding the Service Name starts with a "no access allowed" setting. To change permissions, change each slider to either "Deny" or "Allow", depending on the Service's requirements. Use the guide and screenshot below to understand what each setting does.
Cash. Granting the Service access to your cash allows the Service to READ your Cash Balance, or TRANSFER money out of your account.
Bank. Granting the Service access to your bank allows the Service to READ your bank balance, DEPOSIT money into your bank account, or WITHDRAW money directly from your bank account.
Aircraft. Granting the Service access to your aircraft permissions allows the service to PURCHASE an aircraft in your name, TRANSFER an aircraft out of your account, LEASE an aircraft from your account to another player or group, EDIT an aircraft's settings, or publish your aircraft for SALE.
Allows you to set a new Game World password. (don't forget to change your password in the FSE Client also)
Get access to Game World data for use in external programs or spreadsheets. See the Data Feeds page for more information.
Pilot statistics shows (by username): Flights, Miles flown, Time flown, Currently owned aircraft
Group statistics shows (by group name): Owner (username), Money, Flights (made for the group in total), Miles flown (total), Time flown (total), Owned aircraft. TIP: "How do I Contact a Group Owner?" is a frequently asked question. Answer: use the Groups page to find the group, and see the name of owning FSE Player account.
Access the aircraft information such as specification and flight simulator aliases. See the Aircraft Basics section for more information. TIP: The aircraft models page is an excellent resource when purchasing an aircraft - use it to work out if you are getting an excellent deal (well below base price) or if the price has been inflated for some reason (far above base price). Note that base price does not include IFR/AP/GPS equipment fitted to the aircraft.
Specifications include: seat and cargo capacity, fuel capacity, estimated fuel consumption and aircraft range, and aircraft base price
Opens the FSE Communities website with access to player profiles, private messaging, and discussion forums.
The Airports menu item takes you to the FSE Airports Page.
Each airport has its own webpage with the following information:
Airport Information: ICAO, airport name, location, runway information, airport size and activity level.
FBO Operations: This section shows the amount and price of fuel and profit percentage charged on the cost of repairs at that airport.
Assignments: Jobs available from/to (toggle by clicking from/to) and located at/near (toggle by clicking the name of the airport). The assignment list can be sorted by clicking on any given heading, clicking again reverses the sorting.
Aircraft: Planes located at the airport and possibly available to rent or for purchase.
Commodities: If the airport sells building materials, supplies, or barrelled fuel, these will be available for purchase with their price shown as well.
Search: At the bottom of any given airport page or initially after logging in when this menu is first selected you'll be able to search for an airport by ICAO, name, or with specified aircraft and/or commodities or locate aircraft by their registration.
Note: The search function allows you to search for more then one parameter at once. To narrow the search results, simply enter more details.
For further information, please visit the Airports section of the FSE Operations Guide
Clicking on the My Flight menu item will take you to the My Flight Page. The My Flight Page is like the Pilot's Briefing Room - everything you need to know about the aircraft you currently have rented and the assignments you currently have selected. Whether or not all, some, or none of your assignments will be getting onboard your aircraft or not and, if not, why not. See the My Flight Page section for complete details on using all of the features of the My Flight Page
There are two main types of "logs": Flight Logs and Payment Logs. The Flight Logs (or, Log Book) are simply called Logs in the menu actions.
Logs: Flight logs showing all flights in reverse order by date/time of completion, with where the flight originated from and landed, the aircraft registration, the elapsed time, distance in nautical miles, and amount earned/lost on the flight.
Payment Logs: Up-to-the-minute financial record similar to a ledger sheet.
Note: These menus have sub-menus. If you're a member of a flight group, these menu options will open a sub-menu. Selecting the main option (ignoring the sub-menu) will show your personal information while selecting the name of a flight group will give you the data for the flight group.
Use the Aircraft menu to access your personal fleet of aircraft, or the aircraft fleet for any group for which you own or belong.
Aircraft: This takes you to the aircraft page, showing an overview of the aircraft owned by you or your flight group.
Purchase Aircraft: This shows the market page from where you can purchase aircraft. Clicking the globe icon near the top of the page will load a map showing the location of all aircraft for sale (this will take a few moments) and wherein blue pushpins represent bank-owned aircraft for sale and red pushpins are player-owned aircraft for sale (clicking a pushpin will display aircraft details).
Note: These menus have sub-menus. If you're a member of a flight group, these menu options will open a sub-menu. Selecting the main option (ignoring the sub-menu) will show your personal information while selecting the name of a flight group will give you the data for the flight group.
This menu item takes you to the Banking page, where you will see a summary of Personal and Group Bank Accounts. On this page, you can manage your personal finances as well as the finances for any group you own or of which you are a staff member. You can transfer money back and forth between "Cash" and "Bank", take out a Bank Loan, send money to other players or groups, view your current personal monthly interest accumulation, and access monthly statements.
See the Banking page for more information
My groups: This will show an overview of the groups you are a member of. From here, you can quit a group of which you are a member; or, you can edit the properties of (or delete) a group that you own.
All groups: This displays a list of all groups, a short description of each, and possibly a hyperlink to the group's website. Some groups require invitations to join while other groups can be joined instantly. If the group allows any FSE member to join, there will be a "join" hyperlink which you may click to become a member of that group.
Assignments: Here you can find a list of all assignments that belong to a particular flight group. If you are not a member of any group, this menu item will not work.
Pay group: This allows you to quickly transfer money from your cash account to a flight group. You can do the same transfer from your Bank page, but by using this menu item you will not need to find the name of your group in the long drop down list of player and group names that you see in the Bank page.
Memberships: For each group that you belong to, you can see a list of members of that group. For groups that you own, you can perform membership-related functions, like promoting members to group staff, deleting members from your group, send money directly to all (or some) members simultaniously. You can also send an invitation to a member if your group is not available to be publicly joined.
Goods: This shows you an overview of the goods that are owned by you or your flight group.
Transfer assignments: This shows you all the transfer assignments that have been created for your goods or the goods of your flight group. It also allows you to create new transfer assignments to move goods from one airport to another.
FBO: Selecting this menu allows you to see the FBOs owned by yourself or groups you are a member of. Here is where you will find the payment logs, operations editing (example: setting the price of your retail fuel) and can tear down or build up your lots.
Facilities: This section is for editing the commodities, carrier name, and other operations of your FBOs. You can customize the destinations of your terminals and allow other players to rent any spare gates you may have here.
FBO Maps: With FBO Maps, you can create a custom query to show you FSE Airports that match certain criteria that you supply. Your results will be displayed on a Google Map. For example, you can select "Show me all airports in France that have fuel"; or, "Show me all airports in Alaska that have passenger terminal gates available for rent".
Purchase FBO: This selection will bring you to the page where you can purchase FBOs for sale by other players.
