In FS Economy, most flights cost money. You'll need to fly assignments that generate revenue if you want keep a positive cash flow. Here are some quick tips about making money:
Don't rent aircraft with full IFR/GPS/AP equipment if you don't need it. Expensive equipment can add to the rental price considerably.
Don't fly with full tanks. You don't need to refuel every flight. If your aircraft is lighter, you may take aboard more assignments and need less power.
Pickup extra assignments enroute. You'll often pass airports on your way to your destination. They may have assignments that you can take aboard.
Put money you don't need as cash in your bank account. The bank will pay you interest, but cash does not!
If possible, take assignments that head towards the aircraft’s home field. This will pay you extra money from the distance bonus.
There are many ways to make money in FSEconomy:
Accepting and flying assignments is the first method you will probably use to earn money in the FS Economy world. By flying passengers and cargo, you will earn the dollars needed to grow your bank account and eventually purchase an airplane or FBO (or several).
Finding assignments is easy! You can search for assignments at your favorite airfield by searching in the Airports section of the main menu. This will also list other local airfields which may have assignments available. You can also use the assignments “To” or “From” feature on the airports page. By selecting the airport you want to land at (destination airport) and then selecting the “Assignments from” search feature, you will get a list of all assignments destined for that airport. You can then pick up those assignments that are along the bearing from your starting airport.
Tip: Look carefully at the different jobs available. Some will pay more than others.
Your FS Economy bank account is just like your normal bank account. If you have a positive balance the bank will pay you interest. If you have a negative balance, you will need to pay the bank interest. For more information see the Banking page.
Renting out aircraft that you own or selling aircraft for a profit. For more information see the Aircraft section.
Selling fuel, supplies or building materials, ground crew revenue. You can also rent out the gates of your Passenger Terminal (if you have a PT) for rental income and collect the ground crew fees. For more information see the FBO section.
Some pilots advertise to have their aircraft or supplies moved to a different location. Look in the Forum Marketplace; there are usually many special offers to make money listed there.
