Install the Client

FSUIPC Client

*Combatible with several Microsoft Flight Simulators:

  • FS8 (i.e. MSFS 2002)

  • FS9 (i.e. MSFS 2004 or "A Century of Flight")

  • FS10 (i.e. FSX)

Download the client application by clicking here.

This is a single, small Windows program that doesn't even need an installer. Simply unzip it to anywhere on your computer (the Desktop is recommended).

In order for the client to communicate with the simulator, you must also have the latest version of FSUIPC installed. It doesn't need to be a registered version; the freeware version will work fine. The file, FSUIPC.DLL is to be placed in your flight simulator "modules" folder.

When you start the FSE client for the first time, you will need to enter your "Game World" account information (possibly different than your Community Forums account password). This is a one-time entry. If all goes well, you will receive a message indicating that your account was accepted. If you ever change your password on the FSE Game World website, be sure to update it here as well.

SimConnect Client

*Compatible only with Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Important Note: Due to limitations in how Microsoft has designed dot.net installation options, please note that you MUST use Internet Explorer to install the SimConenct Client. You may use other browsers with FSEconomy, however the SimConnect client installation requires the use of Internet Explorer.

Please read and follow these instructions carefully, as the SinConnect client installation process is sensitive.

Using Internet Explorer, click here to go to the initial installation page and then click the "install" button to start the installation.

Note: If you do not have Internet Explorer set as your default browser, you may receive an error halfway through installation. To work around this, return to the installation page linked above and click the "Launch" link. Installation will then continue.

After installation, the client can be found in your Windows Start Menu, under www.fseconomy.com. If client changes are issued, it will automatically update itself so you should only need to install once.

Open the client, and navigate to FILE > CONFIG, and enter your "Game World" username and password. (possibly different than your Community Forums account password). If you ever change your password, be sure to update that in the client as well.

You can install the SimConnect client onto a secondary computer that is on the same LAN segment as your FSX computer. If you chose to do so, please click here to install the FSX connection library on the second computer. This library is already installed on your primary FSX computer.

X-Plane Client

The installation for the X-Plane Client is somewhat complex. If you experience issues with installing the X-Plane client, please feel free to seek assistance via the FSE Forums.

X-Plane can be used on Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems. Although the process is the same for each, you will need to install different versions of the below files specific to your OS. The setup instructions and images below will use Windows 7 64 bit platform.

Summary: To use X-Plane with FSEconomy, you need the following:

  1. Python Software (version 2.7.17) (allows python scripts to run on your computer)

  2. Python Interface (allows X-Plane to communicate with Python scripts)

  3. X-Economy (a simple python script that communicates between your simulator and the FSE system)

Detailed Installation Instructions: Below are more detailed instructions for each of the above 3 steps

Note: You need to chose files according to your OS.

1. Download and Install Python 2.7.17 by clicking here

Download file to match your OS (Operating System)

Install Python 2.7.17 ( follow the installer instructions).

Setup will create the folder Python27 in the location you selected, default is on your hard drive c: as shown below.

2. Download and Install Python Interface for Python V2.7 by clicking here

Make sure that Interface matches Python Version as shown below.

Unzip the contents of PythonInterface27.zip into the "resources/plugins" folder of X-Plane

You should have a "PythonInterface" folder in the "plugins" folder.

Here comes the tricky part. Depending on the way you unzip the files , you might end up with having PythonInterface folder that has another sub folder also called PythonInterface.

Make sure that you copy the folder that has only 32 and 64 folders and lin.xpl, mac.xpl, PythonInterface.ini and win.xpl files in it.

In the "plugins" folder create a "PythonScripts" folder

Now you should see two new folders in your X-plane/Resources/plugins directory as shown below.

3. Download X-Economy by clicking here

Copy file "PI_xfse.py" into the "PythonScripts" folder.

There are older versions for X-Plane version 8, 9 and 10:

http://x-plane.hu/x-economy/

Start X-Plane

From the "Plugins" menu choose "X-Economy"->"Open"

11. Type your username and password. Password for FSE flying, might be different than the one you use in FSE forums.

11. Move the aircraft that match your location in FSE.

Make sure you have fueled up the aircraft.

Hit “Start Flying” button and you're ready for flying your first FSE assignment.

Keep the dirty side down and have lots of fun as a member of FSE Community.

Happy Flying !

Modifying your airplanes so that FSE recognizes it...

You will need to edit your planes in XPlane to match the FSE specifications.

A. Using Plane-Maker

1. It is recommended that you make a copy of the plane you will be modifying, just in case something goes wrong. (copy the entire Aircraft folder as a backup)

2. In FSeconomy.com, find the plane you want to fly in the Home -> List of Aircraft page and make a note of the type of plane you want.

3. Open Plane-Maker then File -> Open. Go to the folder that has the plane you want to fly in FSE (acf file) Then Open.

4. Now... Go to the Standard Menu, then ViewPoint. In the descr box, change the field to match what FSE reads.

Close the Viewpoint screen with the X, then save your plane as whatever name you want. Close Plane-Maker.

5. Start X-Plane, and prepare your flight as you normally do and go fly.

B. Quick way without using Plane-maker.

From the "Plugins" menu choose "X-Economy"->"Set aircraft alias" You may change the "Modelname" there for every single airplane without worrying for the acf.file

The "trade-off" for this method is that you will need to change "Modelname" every time you change the aircraft you are going to fly.
