Here’s a sort report on the Empathy Tent Popup at UC Berkeley Sproul Plaza yesterday. Empathy Tent Team members who went to Sproul Plaza yesterday: Edwin, Dave, Lou, Moira, Stephanie.
There are two student led classes on Empathy at UC Berkeley and we met with the first class of around 20+ students and each team member facilitated an empathy circle with a group of 5 or 6 students.
There are various conservative speakers coming to UC Berkeley campus over the next weeks and there is likely to be a repeat of the violence that happened when Milo came the first time. We will be setting up the tent there over the coming weeks to offer empathic culture building: listening, facilitated dialogue, mediation, creative design, etc.
