This does not include effects such as a telephones, PAs, or any other processed signals which will be filtered in the mix. Special vocal effects are best done right on the spot, and include masks (eg. surgical, gas, Halloween), talking with a hand over the mouth, talking while smoking / chewing / drinking. Props may be used to create these effects; for example, a paper cup angled at the mouth to imitate a motor-bike helmet, or speaking into the elbow joint to create the muffled effect of talking while hugging someone. When in doubt, do a clean version as well, and always offer the mixer a choice.
