Voice Acting
Q. I would like to get started in voice acting - where do I begin?
A. The place to start would be a voice acting class available through the local actor's union. In Montreal (and the rest of Canada) this would be ACTRA for English and UDA for French-speaking actors. Dubbing houses, animation studios and advertising agencies usually have a signed agreement with these bargaining units preventing them from using non-union talent. The best way to learn is by observing trained actors at work. This is common practice, and most studios will allow you to sit in during a session.
