Scientific research is conceived referring to contemporary market trend for more qualitative and ecological materials and products. With regard to methodologies applied or intended to be applied is taken into consideration their low cost, in manner to be applicable by the industry, as well as to have a positive impact on improving the quality of educational process and adoption of new research topics with moderntechniques of wood processing.
Main orientations of research related to wood yield increased, to optimal and economical utilization of current technical and manufacturing capacities of wood processing industry, as well as to conservation andrestoration of wooden artifacts.
These orientations are directly related to the problems of management and conservation of forest resources both in quantitative and in quality terms, improving the classification of wood as raw material, improving the technology of processing, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Based on individual activity and cooperation with native and foreign colleagues, in the framework of various cooperation projects, during the years are outlined specifically the research areas related to:
- engineering wood based materials;
- modification of wood;
- conservation and restoration of wooden artifacts;
- gluing wood and over layer materials (veneer, melamine, PVC);
- life cycle analysis of wood materials.
