Definition
Educator uses informal and formal assessments of student learning to adjust instruction, to plan for consistently effective ways of teaching subject matter concepts and skills.
Educator provides feedback that is specific and detailed, and gives direction for correction or advancement.
Rationale
In addition to the use of progressive standards-based grading criterion, rubrics, and grading categories (see, for example, domain 4, subdomain D), I ensure that I spend time in class to connect one-on-one with students in order to “check in” and provide verbal feedback on ongoing progress and to clarify any questions that students might have for me about the progress of the course.
