Types of NPC Pets:
Petshop pets, Moon Dragons, Swamp Dragons, Rats, and Tabby Cats can be found in various shops around the Disc.
- Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons on Morphic Street in Ankh-Morpork sells swamp dragons
- Mrs Puddlesocks' pet shop on King's Way in Ankh-Morpork sells cats, chickens, dogs, ducks, rabbits, sheep, owls, hawks, frogs, and ravens
- A rat shop on Lobbin Clout in Ankh-Morpork
- A fresh and airy pet shop on Hill Street in Sto Lat sells fairly expensive cats and dogs. Pets bought here can be named after you buy them, and renamed with the "name" command.
- Lacerouse' pet shop on Sapphire Street and Trade Street in Genua sells trainable pets such as alligator, mynah bird, dog, and monkey
- Moon dragons cannot be bought. To get one, you need to go to the Morpork Mountains (near Nowhere) or the Carrack Mountains (near Bleak Prospect) and wander the terrain until you spot one you like. Then, you need to brush it with a stiff hair brush and then give it one of the mushrooms that grow in the area.
Wearable Pets (objects):
- Big Bert's Anaconda Shop on Cockbill Street in Ankh-Morpork. Sells anacondas of different colours.
- A specialty pet shop that occasionally shows up in the Djelibeybi Bazaar. Sells beetles, butterflies, locusts, and scorpions.
- Alfred Peacock's Petshop on Tchuttifruitti Street in Genua. Sells parrots, alligators, imps, cabbages, snakes, frogs, mice, and gargoyles.
- By searching in the garden of the Academy of Artificers. Snails and caterpillars can be found here.
- The bell tower in Bleak Prospect. Spiders can be found here. You can only wear one at a time. Spiders are very territorial and will try to fend off other insect pets.
- The necklaces sold in Brimstone's, in the Academy of Artificers, contain clockwork wearable pets. The silver necklace has a silver clockwork imp, the golden necklace has a golden clockwork owl, and the platinum necklace has a platinum clockwork frog.
Undead Shoulder Pets:
- You can get these made in Genua. Seems to only work with Genua shoulder pets.
- There's a shadowy tent on Dead Man's Walk...
- Give your pet corpse to Mamie. Strangely, this service is free.

Lacerouse provides the Discworld with the second spammiest creatures alive. He is the only seller of trainable pets on the Disc. Beware as they may attack you or others, including creeping doom, as I found out one day.
Commands for pets: Stand, sic, attack, stay, fetch, roll, smile, kiss, up, shake, speak, say. Heel will always cause your pet to follow you.
To train pets: Say a command and if they do it correctly, say they are good and feed them a snausage. If they do it incorrectly, say bad, hit them, or spray them with a spray bottle.
Saphire St., Genua
- A: A snausage for 22Gc
- B: A spray water bottle for 3,50Gl
- Alligator: It's an alligator.
- Dog: They randomly lick everything in the room. Very spammy.
- Monkey: Can hold some things
- Mynah Bird: Repeat random things people say in the same room as them, which can be very entertaining.
Moon dragons are the hardest pets to get as they show up completely randomly in mountainous terrains. Two of the most common places I've seen then are the hilly plains north of Bleak Prospect, and the other in western Uberwald. They can also sometimes be found in the hilly plains west of Nowhere.
They come in as many different colours as possible, from sin black to virginal white. Wander about aimlessly until you find one you like, and with mushrooms, a brush, and 25 levels of crafts.husbandry.animal.grooming in hand, proceed to woo the beast.
These are some of the spammiest creatures on Disc and other people might not appreciate them. And while you can have multiple dragons at once, they will attack each other if they show up in the same room. They'll also drag anyone else's dragon in the room into the fray.
