Steve, KB8STB gave an interesting presentation on VSWR and analyzers. Steve provided a survey of the most popular analyzers on the market. He displayed two YouTube videos on the big screen visualizing VSWR and what it means with regard to transmitting systems including everything from final amplifier to antenna. Steve provided two demonstrations of using an MFJ-269 Antenna Analyzer. The demonstrations were excellent because Steve used a video camera hooked to the computer so that all in the classroom could see the meter face of the MFJ-269. The first demo involved retuning a commercial grade UHF yagi and the second demonstrated how valuable an antenna analyzer is when searching for antenna bargains in the flea market or just checking out your own equipment before an event. 34 people attended.
